Hydroxy Acids - The Secret to a Gorgeous Glow
The key to skin that glows is regular, gentle exfoliation. Clear skin allows light to better reflect off our skin and results in improved skin-cell-turnover. It also feels velvety smooth, not rough to the touch.
Exfoliating with 7 Day Glow does not mean abrasive scrubs or peels that leave skin flaking. By gentle exfoliation we mean ingredients that work with our skin to slowly and gently dissolve dull and dead cells in order to clear the way for all of the wonderful nutrients in our moisturizers.
One of the gentlest ways to exfoliate is using ingredients rich in natural hydroxy acids - alpha (think acids like glycolic, lactic, and citric) and beta (think salicylic). Hydroxy acid should be an exfoliating staple in your skin care routine.
What exactly are Hydroxy Acids? Hydroxy acids are chemical (natural or synthetic) exfoliants that clear skin’s surface by sweeping away dead skin cells. 7 Day Glow uses 100% natural sources of Hydroxy Acid. We never use synthetically manufactured ingredients.
Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are excellent for battling signs of aging as they work primarily on the surface of skin. AHAs also stimulate collagen to improve skin firmness and elasticity. They increase glycosaminoglycans for increased elasticity, and maintain keratinization to support hydration. AHAs also help increase skin thickness, making it more supple.
Beta-Hydroxy Acid (Salicylic Acid) is an exfoliant that increases our skin’s ability to dispose of dead skin cells. Beta-Hydroxy Acid is able to penetrate oily pores and clear the pore itself because it is soluable. This makes it very useful in managing blocked or clogged pores.
7 Day Glow products combine active natural ingredients rich in Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, Beta-Hydroxy Acids, and antioxidants that work cooperatively to slough away dead skin cells and retexturize skin, resulting in a clear, clean skin tone that is even and glowing. They do all of this while helping to fight the effects of free radicals and pollution on skin. The result is a luminous, elegant glow that only clean, clear skin can have.
